Happy Birthday to Oliver, who must be the most loved dog in the entire universe.
I think he has kind of a sad and lonely look – needs a companion dog
Did Adrian put you up to writing that?!
Jane, you and Oliver are so much part of my life and you are simply unaware. When I see The Common Wanderer in my mailbox, even if it’s a busy day at the office, I always take a quick peek! Your photos (WOW WOW WOW), your writing – simply amazing. And, I am always learning so much through you. When you mentioned the hummers, I thought it was too early in the season for them to arrive, yet that night I made up a batch of sugar water and put it out off the deck. When I got home from work the next night I was leaning over the deck rail and two hummers appeared in flight – zipping over and around my head. I was euphoric! Thank you so much for sharing your world with so many. I love your posts. One last thought. I was going to mention that Oliver thinks he is human, but I am BEGINNING TO BELIEVE THAT HE REALLY IS! You look marvelous! Jan at Brooks
Hi Jan! What a sweet note. It’s been so fun to have this blog, just to have a place for my random thoughts and photography.
I, too, thought it was way too early for hummingbirds but then I saw one buzzing around. I’m glad they came right to your feeder when you put yours up. We noticed the other night that we have at least six or seven hanging around right now. Three of them are females so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that they’ll nest in our bushes. Can you imagine what little hummingbird eggs look like?
Your note made my day. Thanks.
That last shot is quite haunting … happy birthday to Oliver and his people.
Thanks, Beth! Adrian is picking up a special birthday toy for Oliver on his way home. We’ll just have to add it to our massive pile!
Lucky pup indeed. Best birthday wishes… but what more could such a happy pup need?!
Thank you! You’re right, he doesn’t need much. Just daily walks in the woods, lots of treats, and tons of cuddles.
What flavor was that ice cream? Happy birthday Oliver, from Mathias MacGregor, Rat Terrier extraordinaire and Azriel Marley the cat. It is good to see another well-loved critter. Aren’t we lucky?!
I think it was a vanilla creemee! Though I can’t really remember now; it was a couple of years ago. Thanks for the birthday wishes from Mathias and Azriel!!
Happy Birthday to Oliver! Love, Aggie, who’s really THE most loved dog ever.
Someday they should get together and have a chat about their crazy humans.
