Garlic, Harvested

I harvested our garlic this afternoon. It is remarkable how much pride one can feel pulling something out of the ground. Sure, I planted the garlic last autumn. And I did a lot of worrying about them in the last nine or ten months. But they did all the work!

I’ve got the 20 cloves drying in the garden shed and I can’t wait to try them in a few weeks. I have a feeling that the first garden is the best–everything is exciting!

Great photo, rustic and textured. I recall braiding my onions from the first garden (now a long time ago).
